Hydrated Alumina
Hydrated alumina, also known as hydrate or tri-hydrated alumina, is a chemical compound with the formula Al₂(OH)₃, obtained from the Bayer process.
This material is widely used as a raw material in the production of chemicals for water treatment, such as aluminum sulfate, which is essential for the clarification and purification of water in industrial and municipal processes. In addition, hydrated alumina acts as a flame retardant and smoke suppressant. In colorifics, it is used as a raw material for pigments and applied in the formulation of ceramic pastes.
