Paints

Paint is a product intended for coating and finishing surfaces, offering waterproofing, resistance, protection, durability, and improved aesthetics to the product. For this segment, ITAFORTE provides: hydrated and calcined aluminas, white pigments, and high alumina microspheres.

Hydrated alumina: In addition to its important role as a flame retardant and smoke suppressor, the hydrate also acts as a thermal insulator in water-based formulations. Due to its relatively low thermal conductivity, aluminum hydroxide enhances the feeling of thermal comfort within environments.

Calcined alumina: The chemical and thermal stability of alumina and its high hardness make paints much more resistant to wear and, consequently, more durable. It is also a better-performing alternative to sand and quartz for anti-slip coatings.

White pigment: Whitelum promotes good dispersion of light rays thanks to its particle size and does not degrade when exposed to radiation and environmental factors. Additionally, it enhances the resistance and washability of architectural and industrial paints.

High alumina microspheres: These are used in the grinding of pigments and in the distribution and dispersion of pigments and fillers in the vehicle (organic solvent or water) in low-viscosity compositions. Alumina beads are an interesting alternative and are increasingly being implemented, as they perform better than silica (glass) microspheres and offer similar performance at a lower cost compared to zirconia beads.
